Illa de l'Aire

Illa de l' Aire (Spanish: Isla del Aire ) is an uninhabited island in the Mediterranean Sea southeast of the Balearic island of Menorca. It is located south of the local part Punta Prima in the municipality of Sant Lluís. The only building on the 34 acre island, the lighthouse Illa de l' Aire, a warehouse and the residence of the former lighthouse keeper. A narrow road connects this building with the little lying northeast supply port of the island. The beacon of Illa de l' Aire (Position: 39 ° 48 'N, 4 ° 18' O39.7995361111114.2931 ) was modernized in the 19th century and marked by sea to the port of Mahon.

The numerous caves on the island, whose entrances but below the waterline, are today a popular scuba divers area in Menorca. Dives are led by the local diving schools.
