Illana Bay

The bay of Illana is a part of the Gulf of Moro in the southwestern part of the island of Mindanao in the Philippines.

These gulfs borders the Philippine provinces of Zamboanga del Sur, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, and part of Shariff Kabunsuan. Close to the bay, the 1,940 meter high volcano Makaturing rises in the province of Lanao del Sur. The highly indented Daguma Mountains rise on the southeastern coast of the bay.

The largest ports are Pagadian City at its western and Cotabato City at its eastern end. In Pagadian City, the bay is formed even further. This training is called Bay of Pagadian.

In the Cotabato Mindanao River empties after a run 320 km in the bay of Illana.
