Illange

Illange ( German Illingen, Lorraine Illéngen ) is a commune with 1949 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Thionville -Est and Canton Yutz.

Geography

The community Illange lies on the Moselle, about four kilometers south-east of Thionville immediately northeast of the old German - French language border on an average height of 178 m. To 5.65 km ² of the municipal area includes most of the Moselle port on the left side of the Moselle, to which it is the nucleus but no road connection.
