The Samtgemeinde Ilmenau is an integrated municipality in the district of Lüneburg. It includes the municipalities Barnstedt German evern, Embsen and Melbeck.

Policy

The Samtgemeinde Ilmenau belongs to the state election district 48 Elbe and the Bundestag constituency 38 Lüchow -Dannenberg - Lüneburg.

Samtgemeinderat

In the election period 2011-2016 the Samtgemeinderat consists of 26 members elected for this purpose and also the mayor. After the local elections of 2011, the following distribution of seats was:
