Ilumetsa crater

Ilumetsa is a collection of created by a meteorite impact, visible impact craters in Estonia. The site was discovered in 1938 geologically. She is one of six proven meteorite impact sites in Estonia.

There are at least five craters. The three major bear the names Põrguhaud ( " Hell grave " ), Sügavhaud ( " Deep grave " ) and Kuradihaud ( "Devil's grave ").

The age of the crater is estimated to be around 6,600 years ( Holocene ), the diameter of the Põrguhaud is about 80 meters.

The craters are located in the area of ​​South-Estonian community in the Orava county Põlva near the same station of the railway line from Tartu to Orava.
