The community Ilztal with 1744 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) is located in the South -Eastern Styria ( Austria ). As part of the municipality of structural reform in Styria it is merged in 2015 with the community pressed material, the new community will continue to bear the name of the market town Ilztal. This is based on the Styrian community structure reform law - StGsrG.

Geography
Geographical Location
The community is located about 20 km east of Graz and 10 km south- east of the district capital of Weiz in the Valley of Ilz in the East Styrian Hill Country.

The municipality comprises the following five villages (in brackets population as of 31 October 2011):

History
Through discoveries colonization is already in Roman times, in which the area belonged to the province of Pannonia, occupied.
Strikingly especially the tragedies that struck the places over the centuries:
So came in 1349 for the first time the plague; and 1643-1714, there were repeated outbreaks of plague, remember the today so-called Pestkreuze that may have been built on the site of mass graves.
1782 there was a plague of locusts.
1842 burned Prebensdorf from up to three houses.
Today's church was established on 1 January 1968 with the merger of the previously independent municipalities Großpesendorf, Prebensdorf and pitfalls involved in track village.
1982 gave Governor Josef Krainer junior the municipality the municipal coat of arms.
Religions
The majority of the population, namely 95.2 %, is committed to the Roman Catholic faith; 0.6 % are Protestant, 0.3 % Muslim. Without religious beliefs are 2.7% of the population.

Traffic
Through the municipality runs the exchange B54. There are also in the neighboring Sinabelkirchen a driveway on the A2 motorway and thus a high-level connection both to Hartberg and Vienna as well as in the provincial capital of Graz. The district capital Weiz is accessible on a country road through the Ilztal.
The nearest train station is in track village, from where both the provincial capital of Graz as well as the smaller cities Feldbach Fehring and are accessible by the Styrian Eastern Railway. From track village also has a branch line leads to Weiz ( Weiz train).
Established businesses
The economy is characterized by the predominance of small agricultural enterprises, many of which are farmed as a secondary activity. Be built fruit and wine, which is partly marketed in taverns itself. In addition, there are various commercial establishments, such as Construction, timber trade, transport companies, local shops etc.

Coat of arms
Blazon: In gold, a blue post, accompanied by six at the plate edges lined up pole as red circles.
The solid in the middle of the emblem blue band represents the linking Ilz. The golden surfaces on both sides of the mean grain fields and the fertile Ilztal. The red balls are symbols sign for all kinds of fruits that thrive here, and just meaning signs for the fruits of the hands diligence and intellectual property received.
