Imad Moustapha

Imad Moustapha (Arabic عماد مصطفى; born 1952 in Damascus ) is a Syrian diplomat.

Life

Imad Moustapha is married to Rafif Al -Sayed, their children are Sidra and Saree. Until 1983 he studied Bachelor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Damascus. From 1983 to 1995 he was a research associate at the Scientific Studies and Research Centre in Damascus. Until 1992 he studied computer - integrated manufacturing at the University of Surrey. From 1995 to 1997 he directed studies on the Scientific Studies and Research Centre in Damascus. In 1997 he received his doctorate with a thesis A STEP - based generic mechanical model of electronic products to the doctor at the University of Surrey.

From 1997 to 2000 he was Secretary General of the Arab School of Science and Technology in Damascus. From 2000 to 2003 he was Dean of the Faculty of computer science at the University of Damascus. From 2003 to 2004 he was chargé d'affaires in Washington DC. From 31th March 2004 to December 2011 he was ambassador there. Since March 1, 2012 he has been ambassador in Beijing.

Imad Moustapha advised the UNESCO, ALECSO and ESCWA in matters of science and technology policy. In 2003 he was co-author of the UN report on human development in the Arab world. In 2002 he wrote the report " School of the Future", which was presented at the Conference of Arab Ministers of Education in Algiers.
