Imadaddin Nasimi

Sayyid ʿ Imad ad -Din Nasimi (Persian سید عماد الدین نسیمی; * to 1369, † 1417/18 in Aleppo, skinned ) was based on present knowledge, the earliest Azerbaijani poet and philosopher. Since the Azerbaijani literature currently Nasīmīs was still part of the alto manic, but assigns Babinger (1995 ) Nasimi the Ottoman to villages (1988 ) due to the non- Anatolian origin of the Azerbaijani poet.

Life

Little is known about Nasīmīs life, his place of birth is unclear. But he was of Turkmen descent, although the title Sayyid implies Arabian roots. To 1401 he turned in Tabriz under the direction of Fazlallāh Astarābādī the Hurufismus to whose teachings he spread actively and with his life. According to a fatwa issued by the fanatical Mufti of Aleppo Nasimi was there skinned 1417/18 alive.

Work

From Nasimi two divans are preserved in Persian and Turkish. In addition, some verses are attributed to them in Arabic. The Turkish Divan contains 250-300 Ghasele and about 150 quatrains. His poems were, especially through the mediation of migratory Calendar dervishes early generally known.
