Image Warping

Warping ( deformation of English = warp, distort ) of images in computer graphics belongs to the image-based techniques. If a picture the corresponding depth values ​​exist, it is possible by means of the warping equation, to view the image from a different point of view. The method is real-time capable, but has some artifacts such as trace or error concealment with it.

Error

  • Concealment error: Image areas that were originally hidden by objects are visible in the new perspective, it nonetheless can not be displayed properly due to lack of information.
  • Aufdeckfehler: Similar to the masking errors back sides of the object can be seen here, for example, which are not displayed correctly.
  • External Aufdeckfehler: Objects and scene areas that were outside of the picture can get into the picture. These are also not shown.
