Imaginal disc

Imaginal discs are from invaginations of the epithelium in the larvae of insects resulting " Epithelsäckchen " that are already created in the embryo. For these imaginal discs are formed during the metamorphosis to adult animals, wings, genitalia, legs, eyes and antennae.
