Imaginations from the Other Side is the fifth studio album by Blind Guardian. It was recorded from August to November 1994, January-March 1995. The background vocals were recorded in December 1994 in Karo Studio ( Brackelsberg ). It was published on 5 April 1995. The lyrics were written by André Olbrich and Hansi Kürsch. The cover artwork was drawn as with the two predecessors, by Andreas Marschall. The background vocals took Billy King, Thomas Hackmann ( Hacky ), Rolf Köhler and Piet Sielck. The acoustic guitar on "A Past And Future Secret" plays Jacob Moth.
Many old fans of the band see this album as a turning point in the Music Blind Guardian. After this album, the songs were structured more complicated and the production was punchier. This is the first album since Follow the Blind, in which Kai Hansen not participated. The song " A Past and Future Secret" is a typical Blind Guardian ballad, which was released as a single. The bonus song "The Wizard " is a cover of the rock band Uriah Heep. The bonus songs released only in Japan. It is also the last album, plays the bass on the Kürsch, on later albums, the bass is operated by the guest musician Oliver Holzwarth.
