Imaging for Windows

Imaging is a simple image viewer that was included in earlier versions of Windows. It supports scanning of images using a scanner, open, edit and save BMP and TIFF files as well as the viewing of images in JPEG and PCX. The functions of the program can be used on Imaging ActiveX in other applications.

The program was initially developed by Wang Laboratories. The bankruptcy of this company Kodak took over the development. In Windows 95, the program was not listed, but was only offered as a separate download for Windows NT 4.0 is imaging an integral part of the operating system. Windows 2000 was the last operating system in which imaging was included; with Windows XP, the program was replaced by the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, which provides similar functionality.
