Imam Husayn Shrine

The Imam Husayn Shrine (Arabic مقام الامام الحسين ) is a holy place of Shia Islam in the city of Karbala, Iraq. She stands next to the grave of Husayn ibn ʿ Alī, the second grandson of Muhammad, near the place where he died at the Battle of Karbala in the year 680.

The mausoleum of Ali ibn Hussain

The first dome is 27 meters high and completely covered with gold. On the ground floor the mausoleum of twelve windows is nestled, each at a distance of 1.25 meters (inside ) and 1.30 meters ( dimension) from the next.

The mausoleum has a floor plan of 59 meters width and 75 meters in length with ten inputs and about 65 rooms. It is richly decorated inside and outside. The rooms are used for seminars. Furthermore, they are used to send live broadcasts for Karbala TV, which transmits daily activities all by satellite.

In the year 2010 (1432 AH) have entered the shrine to al - Arba'un 14.1 million people.
