Imangali Tasmagambetov

Imanghali Nurghaliuly Tasmaghambetow ( Kazakh Иманғали Нұрғалиұлы Тасмағамбетов; Russian Имангали Нургалиевич Тасмагамбетов / Imangali Tasmagambetov Nurgalijewitsch; born 9 December 1956) is a Kazakh politician and former prime minister.

After his studies in Uralsk ( Oral today ), he first worked as a teacher and had from the late 1970s to 1991 different functions in the Komsomol, the youth wing of the CPSU held. After Kazakhstan became independent, he practiced in the 90s changing activities of a Minister and Advisor to the President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

From 28 January 2002 to 11 June 2003, he was the successor of Qassym Scho - Mart Toqajew the Prime Minister of the country. After the failure of the land reform law he was replaced by Danijal Akhmetov. From 9 December 2004 to 3 April 2008 was Tasmaghambetow mayor of the former Kazakh capital Almaty. Since 4 April 2008, he is the mayor of the current Kazakh capital Astana.
