Immenstädter Horn

The Immenstädter Horn ( also called Gerenstein or short horn ) is a mountain in the southwest of Immenstadt with a height of 1489 m. It is located in the Nagelfluhkette in the Allgäu Alps. Like the other mountains in the south Immenstadts is also of conglomerate rock. He is part of the Natural Park Nagelfluhkette international project. A good look at Immenstadt has one of the so-called pulpit (1106 m), which can be reached coming over the rather steep ascent from Steigbachtal.

Landslide

The landslide of 22 March 2006 on the east side meant a short-term threat to the city, as the boulders moving on the order of about 150,000 m³ direction Steigbachtal.

Trails

From Immenstadt the following hiking trails lead to the summit:

  • Steigbachtal - Pulpit (1106 m) - Summit (approximately 2 hours)
  • Steigbachtal - Alpe Wildegund ( 1315 m) - Summit (approximately 2 hours)
  • Steigbachtal - Alpe Alp (1320 m) - Summit (approx. 2 ½ hours)
  • Steigbachtal - Kempten Friends of Nature House (1450 m) - Alpe Alp (1320 m) - Summit (duration about 3 hours)

Over the following routes of the mountain can be climbed out of Buhl:

  • Buhl - Rieder - Alpe Raven Nest - Alpe boiler ( 1243 m) - Summit (approx. 2 ½ hours)

Alps

Are located on the slopes of the horn Immenstädter some pastures: the Alpe Wildegund ( 1315 m), the Alpe Alp (1320 m) and Alpe boiler ( 1243 m).

Bergmesse

The Horn Fair, a mountain mass, takes place annually in early October at the summit cross of Immenstädter horn instead. It is organized by the Mountain Rescue Immenstadt and the parish council Immenstadt -Bühl - Rough cell and musically accompanied by a delegation of the band Buhl.
