Immortal Technique

Immortal Technique ( born February 19, 1978 in Lima, when Felipe Coronel ) is an American rapper of Afro- Peruvian origin from Harlem, New York. He is the owner of the record label Viper Records.

Biography

Coronel was born in Peru and moved at the age of two years with his family to New York. Because of criminal activities he was sentenced to a prison term and began in prison to learn about the economic problems of South America, racism and Latin American revolutionary freedom fighters. There he studied the life and teachings of Che Guevara and Malcolm X.

After his release from prison in 1999, he returned to New York where he took on various jobs. In addition, he was active as a successful underground rapper and began at that time already beginning to write lyrics for his first album.

Since his lyrics were oriented to political, there was trouble for him to find a label, and he released his debut in 2001 with a circulation of 3000 copies on Viper Records under the title Revolutionary Vol 1 More 9000 piece on the album were then post.

Two years later he released his second album Revolutionary Vol 2, on which he took up the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001, in an edition of 65,000 copies. The resulting single from the Industrial Revolution reached number 50 on the Billboard charts.

2004 appeared with Mos Def and DJ Green Lantern, the piece Bin Laden. In 2005 he published along with Dead Prez and Saigon the title Impeach The President.

His 2008 released album The 3rd World reached # 99 on the Billboard charts.

The 2011 released album The Martyr was provided on its official website to download free.
