Immunoevasin

Under Immunoevasinen refers to proteins that allow viruses to suppress the immune response of their host or to get around. Many virus families have their own Immunoevasine whose mechanisms can be divided into four major classes (here on antigen processing and presentation -based):

  • Preventing the entry of the antigen peptide into the endoplasmic reticulum ( ER)
  • Retaining the MHC class I complexes in the ER
  • Reduction of MHC class I complexes
  • Bind the MHC class I complexes to the cell surface
