• Thymic serum factor ( thymic humoral factor, THF ),
• Microorganisms (Bacillus Calmette- Guérin )
• Different type of proteins ( keyhole limpet hemocyanin )
• Herbal individual substances
• Synthetic substances ( levamisole, Dimepranol, inosine ).

This is to be an activation of the weakened immune system.

As immunomodulators are substances affecting the immune system. The activity of the immune system can be boosted or cut.
