Imogen Stidworthy

Imogen Stidworthy (* 1963 in London, United Kingdom ), lives in Amsterdam and Liverpool. She is a British film and video artist.

Stidworthy studied from 1992 to 1994 at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht, the Netherlands and from 1984 to 1987 at the West Surrey College of Art and Design in England. Acoustic and language and their physical implementation and relationship to the human body play a central role in the work of Imogen Stidworthy.

The artist was 2001-2002 fellow at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. In 1996 she was awarded the Prix de Rome for film and video in the Netherlands. Since 2002 there is of it a permanent video installation as an art in public space ( " the building " ) - Project in Murau in Austria. Imogen Stidworthy was appointed as a participating artist at documenta 12 in 2007 in Kassel.
