Imperial Museum of Brazil

Museu Imperial ( Imperial German Museum ) is a Brazilian Museum in Petrópolis north of Rio de Janeiro.

History

The museum is housed in the former summer residence of the Brazilian Emperor Pedro II ( 1831-1889 ). The summer residence was built from 1840-1845 in the classical style.

The museum was founded on 29 March 1940. Issued in 14 theaters in addition to the furniture and paintings, the crown jewels of Pedro I and Pedro II

As a valuable piece is considered the set with over 600 diamonds and 77 pearls imperial crown of the Empire Brazil. In addition, the golden pen holder, with the 1888 Lei Aurea was signed to visit. The garden has numerous fountains and statues.
