IMule

IMule ( invisible Mule; German invisible Mule ) is an available for multiple platforms P2P client based on aMule which allows via the I2P network, anonymous file sharing. Up to version 1.2.2 for this purpose a separate router software was needed to connect to the I2P network. As of version 1.2.3 iMule but can also be used as a stand alone, by having the I2P router integrated. If you want to, but use the other services that offers I2P, so you need a separate I2P router - a software that takes care of the anonymity of the communication of various programs and also easy to install.

In contrast to aMule, eMule or similar eDonkey2000 client connects to iMule not on server, but runs completely decentralized via the so-called Kademlia protocol, which is but here completely anonymously through I2P.

The advantage of the anonymous data exchange on the Kademlia protocol is offset by the disadvantage of the slower speed - the anonymity offered by a scrambled mix network, which slows down the transfer rate.
