In multiplicibus curis

In multiplicibus curis is another peace encyclical of Pope Pius XII. , Which appeared on 24 October 1948, in which he called for prayer for peace in Palestine. He also recalls his encyclical auspicia quaedam in which he had called for a public prayer for world peace and for the solution of the Palestine problem.

Pius XII. deplored the attacks and the destruction of sacred sites and demanded the free exercise of religious beliefs. He also turned to the faithful in other Middle East countries, diplomatic representative of the Holy See in Palestine, Lebanon and Egypt, and appealed to them to participate in the search for peace. The Pope was in his circular letter also addressed the status of Jerusalem and demanded that the free access to the holy places will backed by international guarantees. These belong but also the Pope, freedom of worship and respect for religious freedom by the respective religious rites.
