The Incheon Munhak Stadium is a football stadium with track and field facility in the South Korean city of Incheon, Gyeonggi -do.

History

Specially built for the Soccer World Cup 2002 in South Korea and Japan; offered it during the World Cup tournament 52 179 spectators to be seated. Construction has started on 20 July 1994; the official inauguration of the sports facility was held on 2 December 2001. The construction costs amounted to 327.7 billion won; converted, these are approximately € 216 million. At that time still under the name Incheon World Cup Stadium.

Today, the arena still has 50 256 seats; of which 49 256 are covered. The roof membrane spans with steel cables on the carrier 24 of the roof and was designed by Schlaich Berger and Partner.
