The Incheon Munhak Stadium is a football stadium with track and field facility in the South Korean city of Incheon, Gyeonggi -do.
History
Specially built for the Soccer World Cup 2002 in South Korea and Japan; offered it during the World Cup tournament 52 179 spectators to be seated. Construction has started on 20 July 1994; the official inauguration of the sports facility was held on 2 December 2001. The construction costs amounted to 327.7 billion won; converted, these are approximately € 216 million. At that time still under the name Incheon World Cup Stadium.
Today, the arena still has 50 256 seats; of which 49 256 are covered. The roof membrane spans with steel cables on the carrier 24 of the roof and was designed by Schlaich Berger and Partner.
In addition to 61 boxes with a total of 230 seats are still 352 business seats and 306 special places for disabled visitors facilities. For the journalists are ready 400 jobs with table and telephone; well 297 for commentators and 100 for the photographers. Around the stadium are 4,559 parking spaces and the nearest underground station is 500 meters away. In 2014 Incheon Asian Games will be held and games of the football tournament will be in Incheon Munhak Stadium during which discharged. Located adjacent to Incheon Munhak Stadium is the Munhak Baseball Stadium; in which the crew of the SK Wyverns plays.
