Incrocio Manzoni

The red variety Incrocio 2:15 Manzoni is a cross between the white Glera vine ( as since the beginning of 2010 is called the grape variety Prosecco ) and the red variety Cabernet Sauvignon. It was created in the 1920s by the Italian breeder Luigi Manzoni at the Institute of Viticulture of Conegliano.

The new breed owes its existence to a chance, because actually Luigi Manzoni had planned a cross between the two white varieties Glera x Sauvignon Blanc. But the seed of the red Cabernet Sauvignon was taken for the seedling of the crossing partners through the fault of auxiliary staff, and there was a red variety.

The red wines, which are fermented from such variety are deep red in color, very fine, aromatic but slightly tanninlastig.

Ethnicity: Glera x Cabernet Sauvignon.
