Incurvatus in se

(Homo) incurvatus in se (lat, dt: " the crooked man to himself ") is a prominent formula of Christian theology. It features the selfishness of man instead of God and neighbor relatedness (Love) as the essence of sin.

The formula was originally developed from Augustine and later plays a significant role in Martin Luther's view of sin.

"Our nature is due to the guilt of the first sin so deeply at yourself out crooked (Latin: tam profunda est in seipsam incurva ) to rupture not only the best gifts of God in and enjoy, and even himself God uses to to obtain those gifts, but that also does not even notice that they all (...) seeks god unconstitutional, twisted and wrong only for its own sake. "
