India national ice hockey team

The Indian national hockey team of men is part of the Indian Hockey Federation ( Ice Hockey Association of India). Current coach is Adam Sherlip.

History

The Indian national hockey team, composed mainly of army and police athletes first participated in 2009 in an official tournament, as they at IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, took and occupied the eighth and last place thus. In their first international game, the team lost significantly with 0:14 to Thailand, which so far is the worst defeat for India. After two more defeats, a 12:10 against Mongolia and Malaysia had a 1:10 against India as a group with a goal difference of 1:34 Last participate in the placement games where it again lost both games. First, India defeated the enemy from Singapore with 0:5 and finally in the match for third place with 7 Macao 0:8.
