Indian Harbour Beach is a city in Brevard County in the U.S. state of Florida with 8,225 inhabitants ( 2010).
Geography
Indian Harbour Beach is located between the Indian River ( a part of the Intracoastal Waterway ) and Atlantic Ocean on the east coast of Florida. The city is bordered by the cities of Melbourne, Indialantic and Satellite Beach and is located approximately 55 km south of Titusville, and 100 km southeast of Orlando.
Demographics
According to the 2010 census, the then 8,225 inhabitants distributed to 4,899 households. The population density was 1495.5 inh. / Km ². 94.7 % of the population were white, 0.9% African American, 0.2% Native American and 1.7 % Asian Americans. 0.7 % were members of other ethnic groups and 1.8% in different ethnic groups. 4.8% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.
In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 39.2 % of all households lived in 20.3 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 60.4 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.14 persons and the average family size was 2.68 persons.
18.0% of the population were younger than 20 years, 17.7% were 20-39 years old, 31.2% were 40-59 years old and 33.2% were at least 60 years old. The median age was 50 years. 48.2 % of the population were male and 51.8 % female.
The average annual income was $ 58,750, while 8.8 % of the population lived below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 96.19 % of the population spoke Spanish 2.25% and 1.56 % had a different mother tongue.

The crime rate in 2010 was 131 points ( U.S. average: 266 points ) in the low range. There were three robberies, six injuries, 34 burglaries, 125 thefts, eight car thefts and two arsons.
