Industrial and organizational psychology

The organizational psychology is the branch of psychology that deals with the interaction of individuals and organization. These include description and change of experience, behavior and attitudes of people in organizations as well as conditions that affect these states and changes. In contrast to the organizational sociology, the psychology primarily concerned in this context with structures and processes at the individual level. The human engineering is an application-oriented part of the field of organizational psychology, which is limited to an economic environment in the analyzes.

The analysis refers to both people in for-profit companies ( industry, trade ), as well as in non-profit organizations (hospitals, universities, etc. ).

ABO

Due to close properly logical relationships with two adjacent areas, the organizational psychology is taught as part of the so-called ABO (work, industrial and organizational psychology) in Germany.
