Inese Jaunzeme

Inese Jaunzeme ( born May 21, 1932 in Pļaviņas, Latvia, † 13 February 2011) was a Soviet athlete Latvian origin. At a height of 1.69 m her competition weight was 70 kg.

She trained at Dinamo Riga. As a third party, the Soviet Championships in 1956 in the javelin to Inese Jaunzeme could still qualify with just 50.84 m for the Olympic Games. In Melbourne it was with 46.19 m Sixth qualifying. In the final, she threw three times Olympic record and has won 53.86 m in front of the Chilean Marlene Ahrens ( with 50,38 m) Olympic champion. She received the 1957 Order of the Red Banner of Labor of the Soviet Union.

Your personal best of 55.73 m she threw 1960.

She became President of the Latvian Olympic Association ( Latvijas olimpiešu Kluba ) 1999.
