Definitions of IT management

The initial term explanation is very general and also actually exist concrete definitions for IT management:

For 1 ) The definition is very grippy at first glance. However, they postulated that IT management takes place in companies and other organizations from borders so unnecessary. It is called a finite list of objectives of IT management, but there are also other objectives, such as, for some organizations, the safety, the most important goal. IT management is concerned not only with the " exploration and understanding ," but also with the concrete implementation in organizations. Partly this is even aware of - in favor of a simple implementation - at your own insights waived (keyword: best practice).

Ad 2 ) The second definition also starts from a company and it begs the question, what is a " value added ". Again, not all areas of IT management are taken into account, for example, it may not be about cost minimization in a nuclear power plant in IT management services. Generally, a " simultaneous " minimizing costs and risks are not possible if the minimization of risk is associated with costs.

However, there are other ways of sharing that may be useful for the practical implementation of IT management in organizations such as the identification of relevant control objects, such as the specific stakeholders and the specific objectives of IT management.
