Inge Auerbacher

Inge Auerbach (born 31 December 1934 in Kippenheim ) is an American chemist of German origin. Their experiences as survivors of the Holocaust they processed in several books that have been translated into various languages.

Life

Inge Auerbach, daughter of Berthold Auerbach and Regina, born Lauchheimer, grew up as an only child in a devout Jewish family and spent her childhood in Jebenhausen and Göppingen. The age of seven, she was deported in August 1942 in the Theresienstadt ghetto. After the camp was liberated by the Red Army on May 8, 1945, the family came first in a DP refugee camp in Stuttgart and then returned for a short time to Göppingen. In May 1946, the family emigrated aboard a refugee ship to the United States and settled in New York. 1953 Auerbach was granted the U.S. citizenship.

1986 published Auerbach her ​​childhood memories in the United States, 1990, she appeared in German translation.
