Inge Magnusson

Inge Magnusson (* 1182, † 1202 Storøya (now Helgøya ) in Mjøsa ) was from 1196 until his death in 1202 the Norwegian king of Baglerpartei.

After the spread of the Baglern version of his father Magnus Erlingsson was ( 1156-1184 ). His mother is not known.

Together with the refugees who fled to Denmark Bishop Nikolas Arnason and many Norwegians in 1196 he came to Halör market in the then Danish Scania. Here the revolt against King Sverre was decided and Inge, who claimed to be the son of King Magnus Eringsson, was proclaimed king. After the Birkebeiner had withdrawn from Viken, Inge was in 1196 proclaimed on the Borgarting king. After the Bagler Saga Bagler had after the death Sverres the whole coast in Sogn og Fjordane and Møre. But after the costly battles in Vestlandet the Bagler moved back to Østlandet. During the year 1202 the number of troops decreased steadily because the population is more and more King Håkon Sverreson joined. In the summer, he also lost the support of the church. Archbishop Eirik Ivarsson and the other bishops who had been the mainstay of Bagler, compared with Håkon. King Inge retired with his team back to the island Storøya (now Helgøya ) in Mjøsa.
