Inge Simonsen
Inge Simonsen ( born July 1, 1953) is a retired Norwegian long-distance runner.
In 1979, he came at the World Cross Country Championships on the 57th place and was third in the City - Pier - City Loop, and the following year he was over 10 km and over 20 km of national champion in cross country and sixth at the New - York -City- Marathon.
At the premiere of the London Marathon 1981, he returned to the second half with Dick Beardsley a thrilling duel. Until the end, none of the two runners could settle, and finally they ran spontaneously holding hands in the destination, and were declared winners of the race together.
