Ingenbohl is a municipality in the district of Schwyz in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland.

Geography

Ingenbohl is located on 435 m above sea level. M., on Lake Lucerne, surrounded by Urmiberg, Fronalpstock and the myths. The neighboring communities of Ingenbohl are - from the west clockwise - Gersau ( in the same district), and Lauerz, Schwyz and Morschach in the district of Schwyz. By Ingenbohl flow the Muota and the brook Leewasser that flow into wells in the Lake Lucerne.

The municipality Ingenbohl consists of the villages Ingenbohl and fountains, as well as the settlements Unterschönenbuch, Wylen and Schränggigen.

Coat of arms

Since the part of the village fountain to Ingenbohl grew, it was decided in 1947 to produce a new coat of arms, which stands for both villages or parts of the village. There was a split crest. Up in red, a white cross, which represents Ingenbohl, and below in blue, a white ship, which stands for wells.

Economics, Transportation

Ingenbohl has its own station of the Gotthard Railway, but is named after the village fountain. The train station is from the S2 ( Erstfeld - Arth -Goldau - train ) operated every hour of the light rail train and a few express trains. In addition, the fountain station every hour endpoint of the S3 S-Bahn Luzern. As part of the master plan Rigi Myths an S -Bahn station in the industrial area web students is planned supposedly. Auto AG Schwyz serves as Feinverteilerin with their bus routes Schwyz Fountain Gersau - Weggis Vitznau - Küssnacht and well - Morschach. A cable car runs from wells on the Urmiberg, and the shipping company of Lake Lucerne operates a boat station.

Between the former Holcim works well and the quarry Unterschönenbuch led by 2010 the trackbed of the Mühlibähnlis, but its operation is set and the tracks removed.

Between Ibach Schwyz and at Ingenbohl the A4 motorway ends. Its continuation is the dual Axenstrasse, then the Lake Uri, Lake Lucerne follows. In Flüelen the A2 towards Gotthard road tunnel and then goes on to Ticino.

Fountain is a tourist resort. Various stores, hotels and restaurants have settled there. The side of Ingenbohl is much industrialized in comparison. Other branches of industry are agriculture and small businesses.

In Ingenbohl is the monastery Ingenbohl, the parent or Generalate of the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross.
