Ingersheim (Haut-Rhin)

Ingersheim is a commune with 4658 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haut-Rhin in the Alsace region. She is a member of the Association of Municipalities Communauté d' agglomération de Colmar.

The community Ingersheim is located five kilometers northwest of the city of Colmar. At 215 m there is a bridge over the fencing, the hill of Mont Flori, a very vineyard is 308 meters high. The place is situated on the Alsace Wine Route.

History

Grave findings point to a about 5000 years earlier settlement. The Romans introduced viticulture here in the 7th century today Ingersheim was mentioned as Annghisheim first written. In the Middle Ages the village belonged to the sphere of influence of the Habsburgs. In the 16th century Lazarus of Schwendihotel had the pledge dominion over the place. As part of the Peace of Westphalia in 1648 the place came to France and to the French Revolution was closely linked to Colmar.
