Ingersoll Rand

The Ingersoll-Rand plc is an international, originally American conglomerate with headquarters in Swords near Dublin in Ireland and U.S. headquarters in Piscataway Township, New Jersey.

The Group manufactures through its operating subsidiaries products and integrated solutions (including refrigeration and air conditioning technology, compression technology, security systems) for various industries such as automotive, industrial manufacturing, construction and agriculture.

The Ingersoll Rand brand is used primarily for industrial goods such as compressed air solutions or lifting and tools; many other products of the Group are sold under different brand names (eg, Club Car Golf for Mobile, Thermo King transport refrigeration products ). The GHH Rand in Oberhausen manufactures oil-free and oil-injected screw compressors.

Listed on the New York Stock Exchange, the company employs approximately 52,000 (2011), 2012 employees and achieved a turnover of 14 billion U.S. dollars.

History

The company was founded in 1871 under the name Ingersoll Rock Drill Company. 1905 followed the merger with the edge Drill Company of the Ingersoll -Rand Company.

2009, the Group decided to relocate its headquarters from Bermuda to Ireland. The relocation to Swords was completed on 1 July 2009. This was accompanied by the conversion of Ingersoll-Rand in a stock corporation under the laws of Ireland.
