Ingo Appelt

Ingo Appelt ( born December 11, 1961 in Innsbruck ) is a former Austrian bobsledder and politician ( FPÖ). Since 1981 he works as a jeweler and jewelry designer in Fulpmes.

Life

Ingo Appelt attended primary school and secondary school in Innsbruck and moved to the College for machine tools, jigs and fixtures in Fulpmes, where he graduated after.

Appelt was at the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville Olympic champion in four-man bobsleigh. In the season 1987/88 he won the overall World Cup and 1987 /88 and 1988/89 the four-man bobsleigh World Cup. In Winterberg 1989 he was European champion and the 1990 World Cup in St. Moritz, he reached the bronze medal.

Immediately after his Olympic victory ended Appelt his career and took over his father's jewelry store. Then he was between 5 April 1994 and October 21, 2003 Member of the Tyrolean Parliament, where he was elected on the national election proposal of the FPÖ.
