Ingo Euler

Ingo Euler ( born November 27, 1971 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a retired German rower. His greatest successes were the bronze medals at the World Championships in 1997 and 1999 and three times at the Olympics in the lightweight double sculls.

Euler was the first time in 1992 a member of the German national team at the Nations Cup, the unofficial U23 World Championships, he won gold with the lightweight quadruple sculls. The following year he represented Germany in the lightweight double sculls and was U23 World Championship runner.

In 1995, Euler at the German Championships in the lightweight one and then trained with Peter Uhrig German lightweight double sculls, the team ended at the World Championships in Tampere the tenth, a year later at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in eleventh place.

After the Olympics, Bernhard Rühling advanced to Euler in the double sculls, the team won the 1997 and 1999 World Championship bronze in 1998 took the boat to fourth place. In these three years, Euler and Rühling were overall World Cup winner in a lightweight double sculls also each. At the Olympic Games in Sydney, they missed the medal in the finals she finished fourth.

Since Rühling had ended his career, rowed Euler in 2001 and 2003 together with Manuel Brehmer in the lightweight double sculls, the team reached at the World Championships in fourth and fifth. 2002 Euler was the third time German champion in the lightweight single sculls and rowed this boat also at the World Championships, where he finished fourth. At the Olympic Games in Athens Euler started for the third time in the lightweight double sculls, missed along with Brehmer but the semi-finals. However, the team was able to win in the C- final that finished overall 13th place.

2005 Euler was again German champion in the lightweight single sculls and launched a boat of this well at the World Championships in Gifu, where he came in sixth place in the final.
