Ingrid Thulin

Ingrid Thulin Lilian ( born January 27, 1926 in Sollefteå, Sweden, † January 7, 2004 in Stockholm) was a Swedish actress.

Life

At age 17, Ingrid Thulin moved to Stockholm where she worked as office workers took acting and dance classes in addition to their activity. In 1950, she completed her training at drama school of the Royal Dramatic Theatre, where she was then engaged. Director Ingmar Bergman introduced her to the films Wild Strawberries and The Silence beyond the borders of Sweden also. In 1964 she received for her performance in The Silence including the first ever Guldbagge for Best Actress. Together with Bibi Andersson and Liv Ullmann she was one of the main actresses in Bergman's films. Overall, she turned nine films with the director.

This was followed by international cinema productions directed by Alain Resnais and Luchino Visconti. In 1970 she moved to Italy, but continued to play at the theater, in film and on television. For One and One (1977) and Brusten sky (1982 ) led them to direct myself. When she became ill with cancer, she returned to her native Sweden. She died in Stockholm in 2004.

Ingrid Thulin was from 1952 to 1955 with the theater director Claes Sylwander and 1956-1989 with Harry Schein, the founder of the Swedish Film Institute, married.
