Ingrid Thyssen

Ingrid Thyssen, Ingrid Anna Thyssen ( born January 9, 1956 in Aachen ) is a retired German javelin thrower.

At the European Athletics Championships, she was in 1978 in Prague and 1982 in Athens Seventh Ninth.

In 1983, she retired at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in the qualifier, and in 1984 she was at the Olympics in Los Angeles Sixth.

A seventh place finish at the 1986 European Championships in Stuttgart was followed by a ninth in the World Championships 1987 in Rome and an eighth at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul. Her international career ended with a sixth place finish at the 1990 European Championships in Split from.

Eight times she became German champion (1979-1984, 1987, 1988 ) and four German Vice-Champion ( 1976, 1978, 1986, 1989).

Ingrid Thyssen started until 1978 for the ASV Köln, then for the LG Bayer Leverkusen.
