Initialization ( cf. English to initialize ) may refer to:
- The part of the boot or charging of a computer program, where the storage space required for execution is reserved for the program and filled with initial values , see Initialization
- In the programming, the assignment of an initial or starting value to an object or a variable
- On operating systems such as virtual memory system and the formatting of disks is called initialization
