injection well

Injection wells are wells which are used for recirculation of water in the soil, thus increasing the water table. Uncontaminated rain water from roofs, for example, can be fed through the injection wells to the aquifer and therefore available for later withdrawal. Especially with dense development seepage of unpolluted rainwater on site can be an alternative for deriving through pipes by means of injection wells. Basically, the injection well is in the same design as a modern water extraction wells.

They are used mainly in connection with water-water heat pump to, the ground water to supply the water used for the extraction of heat, such as a heat pump heating again. With regard to the extraction wells to the injection wells located downstream in the direction of groundwater flow and at least about 10-15 meters away.

Another application is the disposal of waste water in areas where no natural drainage is available, or can be used.
