Geography
Geographical Location
The municipality is located in the Danube- forest in the Bavarian Forest. Innernzell located on the B533 approximately 14 km west of Grafenau, 23 kilometers from the National Highway 3 (exit Hengersberg ) and 28 km from Deggendorf.

History
In the land register of the monastery Osterhofen Cell 1353 is mentioned. In 1395 the nobles possessed of neck in Czell three estates as a fief of the Bishop of Passau. 1471 the branch office to the vicarage of the parish Aicha vorm Wald was raised. In the map of Philipp Apian in 1568, the place is registered as INERA cell. 1578 burned the entire village from and including the church.
In a description of the estates in the district court Bärnstein 1597 twelve goods of the monastery as Hofmark Osterhofen be duly noted, while only the Tafern belonged to the district court Bärnstein. By 1600, a sprawling parish was established, which also oversaw Schoefweg among others. In the War of Austrian Succession in 1742 plundered Hungarian hussars the village.
Innernzell belonged in the Electorate of Bavaria for Rent Office Straubing and after the dissolution of the monastery Osterhofen to the convent of St. Anna ( Munich). The convent was acquired at the end of the 18th century, both the possessions of the monastery Osterhofen ( landlords in Innernzell ) and the Dachsberger Hofmark Ranfels ( Bailiwick ). A licensed sichertes of Elector Karl Theodor court rule was revoked in 1802. Created in 1818 the current municipality. 1842 a new church was built in the classical style.
Incorporations
In 1945 or 1946, the entire hitherto independent municipality Gmünd and part of Hilgen riding were incorporated. On January 1, 1972, added a part of the community Solla.

The council has been working for the municipal election on 2 March 2008 as follows:
- CSU: 9 seats ( 70.7 % of the vote )
- CWU: 3 seats ( 29.3% of the vote)
Mayor
Mayor is Joseph Kern ( CSU), who was elected at the municipal election in 2008 in the first round with 72.46 % of the valid votes.
Finances
The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of € 843,000 in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted € 382,000.
Coat of arms
The coat of arms description reads: Oblique links shared by silver and blue, in a slanting split of red and gold crosier, including three, one asked for two golden globes.

Economy, agriculture and forestry
It was in 1998 according to official statistics in manufacturing and 207 in trade and transport, no social insurance contributions at the workplace. In other areas, were employed to social security at the workplace 117 people. Social insurance contributions at residence, there were a total of 604 in the manufacturing sector, there were 4 businesses in construction enterprises 5. In addition, in 1999, there were 63 farms with an agricultural area of 901 ha, of which 790 ha of permanent green space.
