INSEE

The Institut national de la statistique et des études économiques ( INSEE ) is the official French Statistical Office based in Malakoff near Paris.

The Institute collects and publishes information on the French economy and society and leads the censuses in France. It also determines the rate of inflation and other economic indicators such as the development of production costs. In addition, the INSEE assigns a municipality key, called the Insee code that differs from the postal code to identify the French communities clearly can.
