Insoo Kim Berg

Insoo Kim Berg ( born July 25, 1934 in Korea, † January 10, 2007 in Milwaukee ) was an American psychotherapist, the major impact in the fields of therapy, counseling, supervision and coaching had. Insoo Kim Berg came at a young age in the United States and founded - together with her husband Steve de Shazer - 1978 Letter Family Therapy Center, shortly BFTC, in Milwaukee. Both are considered pioneers of the Solution Focused Approach or the solution-focused counseling and short-term therapy, and systemic therapy. Steve de Shazer died in September 2005 in Vienna, Insoo Kim Berg 16 months thereafter. The BFTC had to be closed in December 2007.
