Reception

Instant Bird received some positive attention, under a general expectation that the program would be developed further. Blogger Chris Pirillo Technical wrote in his blog that the program is " relatively well under all three operating systems work," that the user interface " unobtrusive ... and is very clean ," and that chats can be performed with different protocols simultaneously, including IRC. BetaNews -author Joe Cassels noted that Instant Bird " aims to bring together the many different services and networks under one roof, and, although it is not as polished as other programs like Trillian or Pidgin frequently used, gives us the proximity to Mozilla positive that the program will become a powerful alternative to these programs. " Lifehacker -author Alan Henry called the visual appearance of the program as " smart ", described the user interface as " Pidgin inspired " but " a bit more attractive " than Pidgin, he called the 1.0 version of the software a " great progress" and stated " what is missing from the program to built-in functions, makes it through extensions and themes, which are contributed by the user community, for it.
