Journalism

History

The IW was founded on 16 January 1951 as Germany Industry Institute ( DI). By resolution of at the founding meeting in Oestrich (Rheingau ) present industrialists and association representatives should make the Institute a " broad-based economic education about benefits and principles of free enterprise economy on the basis of scientifically impeccable knowledge ". The Institute commenced on 2 May 1951 in Cologne on his work. Adoption of the Constitution and election of the first Board took place on 19 September in Cologne, the entry in the Register was made on 16 October 1951. The renaming of the German Industry Institute in the Institute of German Economy in Cologne and the German industrial publishing GmbH, German Institute -Verlag GmbH (DIV ) was performed in 1973.
