Institute Vienna Circle

The nonprofit International Institute Vienna Circle, founded in October 1991, aims at both the previously neglected documentation and further development of work and influence of the Vienna Circle in the field of science and popular education, as well as the current maintenance and application of logical- empirical, critical and rational and linguistic analysis thought and action to build a scientific philosophy and world-view in conjunction with general socio- cultural trends.

A major goal of the Institute is the democratization of knowledge and science as educational work resists any irrationalism, dogmatism and fundamentalism in a social context and in accordance with the latest state of international research.

Scientific Director of the Institute Vienna Circle is Friedrich Stadler, University Professor of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Vienna.

The Institute maintains a research library, among other things with stock donations of Otto Neurath, Robert S. Cohen, Adolf Grünbaum, Kurt Blaukopf, Kurt R. Fischer and Eugene T. Gadol.
