Institution of Mechanical Engineers

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers ( IMechE ) is a British engineering company similar to the Association of German Engineers ( VDI).

The association was founded in 1847 in Birmingham. The founding members were Charles Beyer, George Stephenson and others.

Since the establishment of the " IMechE " had 120 president. Since 1922, the Presidents are elected annually for one year. Joseph Whitworth, John Penn and William Armstrong have had the chair several times.
