Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura

The Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura ( INBAL ) in Mexico City is the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature of Mexico, was established on 31 December 1946. Partly also the name Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes ( INBA ) is in use. Office of the institution is the Palacio de Bellas Artes.

The main task of the existing for more than 50 years, the institution is the spread, the protection and preservation of the arts and cultural manifestations of Mexico and other nations, as well as research and artistic education. The tasks but also includes the promotion of knowledge about new artistic trends.

The Institute has a number of departments, artistic ensembles, three national centers for the storage of the literary stock, 29 schools and other facilities. One of the schools for design and crafts, was founded in 1962 by José Chávez Morado.
